2008 Disney Trip FAQ Page

Here are some of the most common frequently asked questions from our first parents meeting. We will continue to update this page as we move closer to the trip date.

Is there a "Snow Date" for the Disney Trip?

Is there a "Snow Date" for the Disney Trip?

There will be no snow date for this trip. Trip insurance is included in the cost of our package.

What is the plan for weather related delays?

Weather delays will be dealt with at the time of the trip. Trip insurance is included in the cost of our package.

What does the trip insurance cover?

Trip insurance covers the cost of our trip if it is cancelled or interrupted. Coverage includes the cost for emergency evacuations, weather delays in travel if we cannot return home as scheduled, etc.

What if I play two instruments?

If you play more than one instrument, you will need to bring both instruments on the trip.

What if my instrument(s) get damaged or lost on the trip?

We recommend you purchase instrument insurance to cover losses or damage incurred during our stay in Disney. Your instrument will be insured during transit to and from Disney, but once in Disney, your instrument is your responsibility. Your parents can add a rider to their home owner policy to cover the instrument while in Disney.

How are we getting all that equipment and luggage to Disney?

One of our band parents has volunteered their services to transport all our luggage, instruments, uniforms and equipment to Disney by truck. You will need to have your instrument(s), luggage (except your carry on), uniform to the school so we can load the truck on January 1, 2008.

I want to be in the Band Front, when are the auditions?

Band Front auditions will be held May 21st - May 24th. It is required that parents and students interested in auditioning should attend the Disney Parents Meeting on May 14th.

Can I make my deposit payment on my Credit Card?

Deposits must be made by check or cash at the parents meeting on May 14th.

I want to "tag-along", do you have a special package for me?

Tag-Along packages will be identical to the package offered to band members and chaperone's. Partial packages will not be available. You may make your own arrangements to travel to Disney. See the itinerary for the schedule the band will be following. See the Disney Itinerary

Do I have to travel with the band, or can I get to Disney on my own?

If you are a member of the band, you must travel with the band. All pricing is for the entire trip and cannot be discounted or pro-rated if you only use part of the travel package.

I do not have a drivers license, what ID do I need to pass through airport security?

Photo ID's are required to pass through airport security.
If you are 18 years old or older, you must have a goverment issued photo ID.
Students under the age of 18 may use their GSHS Student Photo ID.
Children traveling with a parent or guardian do not need photo ID's.
Passports are always acceptable ID for air travel.

What items can I carry on the airplane?

The Transportation Security Administration has banned certain items from your carryon luggage. See the TSA website for all the details of travel. Goto the TSA Website

How much luggage can I carry-on the airplane?

Each airline has different policies for carry-on luggage depending on the size and type of aircraft we fly on. In general, you may carry one personal item (purse, briefcase, laptop case) and one roll-aboard bag no larger than 22" x 18" x 12". More details will be available once we book our airfare and know what airline we will be flying on.

Is a nurse traveling with us on the trip?

A school nurse will be traveling with us to attend to students medical needs and administering medications.
